He chose Paris as his first stop, but the travel agent told him it was cheaper to fly all the way to America with a stopover in Paris, and to just get off at the stop. According to Alex, this experience “was a great way of growing up and trying to understand the world.”Īfter several smaller-scale businesses in Israel and three years in the military, he was set on the idea of moving to Europe to start something big. During his 16 years in Israel, he encountered major culture shock from leaving a communist country to a socialist country with different languages, a different environment, and diving into a melting pot with people from over 100 different countries.
